Golden milk is a beverage that claims to have a lot of benefits for the human body. This is due to it´s super healthy ingredients like cinnamon, black pepper and turmeric. Health gurus claim to drink it every day whether for breakfast, before bed or even both for optimum results.
– 1 1/2 cups vegan milk (I prefer almond milk)
– 1 tsp. turmeric
– 1 tsp. ginger
– a pinch of black pepper (activates the effects of turmeric)
– a pinch of cinnamon
– 1 tsp. Honey, maple or agave syrup
– 1 tsp. Coconut oil
Mix all the ingredients together in a pot and let it warm up for about three minutes. I recommend you to not let it cook in order to not damage the important nutrients. Once it´s warm and you have mixed every ingredient properly, you can enjoy your warm cup of Golden Milk. You will quickly notice, that the name comes from the golden color of the turmeric mixed with the other ingredients.

You may know that turmeric has a lot of anti-inflammatory qualities. Inflammations appear due to unhealthy eating habits, such as eating lots of sugar, diary and starch that turn the bodies pH levels acidic. An acidic body lead to inflammations that cause diseases!
Our goal is to maintain alkaline pH levels in our system to avoid or remove diseases. But what has this Golden Milk to do with all of that? Turmeric is the main ingredient of this beverage which is super healthy to consume because of its anti-inflammatory qualities. Golden Milk For Weight Loss
I was drinking the Golden Milk for weight loss reasons every morning and evening before bedtime and personally noticed that it really curbs your appetite. After drinking one cup, I always felt so full for such a long time, that I didn´t need any breakfast. Not eating for breakfast saved me some extra calories a day that obviously led to some weight loss. I also felt like I woke up “leaner” in the morning because of the cup I drank at night.
I definitely had some extra energy after about three days of drinking it because of the metabolism boost that comes along with the turmeric intake. My enhanced metabolism lead to more energy which made me move a bit more in my free time. I can definitely say that drinking the Golden Milk for weight loss strategy helped me lose some extra weight but it also came along with a big side effect I couldn´t stand no longer…
Why I Didn´t Continue Drinking It
The worst thing about this drink for me is one ingredient. Turmeric! I guess the first three cups were tasty to drink, although I never liked the taste of turmeric but having to drink it every day and even twice a day made me feel so sick of it to the point that I felt nauseous while even only sipping on it. I really tried to change the recipe a bit but even if I decreased the amount of turmeric, I couldn´t stand drinking it.
Luckily that´s just my experience with the Golden Milk and there are a lot of people that enjoy it on a daily basis like my mother but I just wanted to tell you about my experiences with it to inform you about what might could happen for you, too.
